Hey Soul Sistahh...

What is the true meaning of a sister? Well according to Websters and Google Dictiornary it means a female who has one or both parents in common with another. Ok ok, yes that is the literal definition, but I am talking about something deeper.

Family and friends are the backbone of life, they support and love you, and always have your back. Some say that there is no one closer and more important as family, and I agree, but who said anything about immediate family- what about “like” family.

In order to consider someone apart of your family, you have to have a unique and special bond. One that will outlast time and any other wavering forces. The love you have for each other is so strong that you treat them exactly like your own siblings and would gladly take a 38 caliber to the chest for them.

I have dreamed of having a sister all my life, and begged my parents to trade my brother’s in, to no avail (however, I would never say that now). Little did I realize, I already had three.

I was born on February 16th, and my best friend Meggie Kampa was born on February 10th and we have been inseperable since. Her two older sisters Keenan Kampa and Courtney Kampa have been through it all. We grew up living in the same town, with play dates everyday, summer swim meets, and of course went to ballet together.

Although I did not realize it back when Courtney would give us Spa days and draw creepy men’s name in lotion on our backs during the massage portion, or when Keenan would dangle spit over our faces, and when Meggie and I would drag eachother across the room pulling hair in some intense fight, these girls are my sisters.

I have known you all for the past 20 years, and I can honestly say that you are my family. We all have so much fun together, and I could not be luckier to have such beautiful friends that I can call my sisters.

See you soon,
 Dede

The times of our lives....

“She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.  She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.  She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark.  She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.” -Barbara Alpert

I miss you everyday.....

Mark the perfect man and behold the upright, for the end of that man is peace. Psalms 37:37

I came across this passage as I was making a scrapbook of Mr. Campbell's life. I had been thinking of something to end the book with, and this by chance was the first thing I saw when I flipped open the Bible. Perfect.

Many people come and go in your life, some do not leave impressions and some do. He left the biggest footprint of all. I have known Mr. Campbell since I was eight years old, and he has been a father figure to me since. He would kick me out of the house if Taylour's room was messy, she had chores, or if she got a bad grade. He would sit us down and talk to us about life, overcoming obstacles, and our connection with the Lord. He was the first person to teach me to make a s'more and punt a volleyball.

I remember when he first got sick, Taylour and I did not understand, but we knew something was wrong. He had blood clots in his lungs and after he had a successful double lung transplant, he was told he had a few years left. This man was living proof of a miracle, he defeated every odd, and lived for seven more years. He got very sick again this year due to brian cancer. I fortunately was home for a while this summer, and I got to spend almost every day with him until the Lord took him away on July 4th, 2010. I will always cherish those moments of laying on the couches outside, helping to lift you into the pool, and watching your beautiful wife and children share such great love with you in your last moments with us.

Mr. Campbell I miss you more than you could ever imagine. You were my second daddy and guided me through so much in my life. Even though I pray with you every night, I wish I could see your face and stand up on my highest tippy toes to hug you. I love you.

Here is an excerpt from the letter he wrote to his family. He was man in the image of God:

First, remember always that our life in this world is short. Whether we live 1 year, 10 years, or 100 years in the end it will all seem like just a blink of the eye before we are together again with Jesus.  Until that day you will always carry my heart and soul within you; I will be with you and part of your life every day.  Whenever you look into a mirror and smile look deep into your eyes and you will find me smiling right back at you.  Because this life is so short, spend your time and talents and energy on things that will change people’s lives for an eternity, don’t waste it on your own desires or anything else this world values.
Second, understand why God’s promises will give you peace and even joy in the midst of any trial.  You are a child of God and He loves you unconditionally.  He promises that in ALL THINGS he works for the good of those who love Him.  He is omnipotent and utterly faithful, never breaking a promise.  Therefore, no matter what comes at you in life, you can have peace in knowing that God will orchestrate a perfect outcome.

I love you.

My Ghetto Roommate

Not only has she downed 14 tylenol PM's and three Reese's Fastbreaks, but I have also woken up to flea poop in my bed, and the other night I woke up to a pillow smeared with poop and looked over to see my friend Marina's pillow in the same foul condition. She is a hot-mess and looks as though she is owned by a homeless hairdresser. However, there is no greater love than that of this dog.
KAO.........
She walked over to marina, to sleep on her butt. jajaja
Her usual sleeping position
Yes, she eats the sand
Girls night would not be the same without her Ben and Jerry's!

Smuggling her on the bus in a purse...
